Categories
Categories help organize feature requests so users can find what they're looking for. A well-organized category structure makes your board easier to navigate.
Viewing Categories
- Go to Admin > Categories
- You'll see all your categories listed
Each category shows:
- Name
- Color
- Icon
- Number of features in it
- Visibility status
Creating Categories
- Click Add Category
- Fill in the details:
- Name - What users will see (e.g., "Bug Reports")
- Color - Pick a color for the badge
- Emoji Icon - Choose an emoji to visually represent the category (e.g., "Bug Reports" might use a bug emoji). The emoji appears alongside the category name in the board, dropdowns, and filters.
- Description - Optional text explaining what this category is for. When provided, the description is shown to users beneath the category name on the board, helping them choose the right category when submitting a feature.
- Click Save
The new category is now available for users to select.
Editing Categories
- Find the category in the list
- Click Edit (pencil icon)
- Change what you need
- Click Save
Changes apply immediately to all features in that category.
Reordering
Categories appear in the order you set. To change the order:
- Drag a category using the handle on the left
- Drop it where you want
- The order saves automatically
Categories at the top appear first in dropdown menus.
Hiding Categories
Each category has a visibility toggle that controls whether it appears on the public board.
- Find the category
- Click the visibility toggle to hide or show it
What happens when a category is hidden:
- Users cannot select it when submitting new feature requests
- Existing features in the category remain visible on the board and retain their votes and comments
- The category still appears in the admin panel so you can manage its features
- Hidden categories are marked with a "Hidden" badge in the admin list
To show it again, click the toggle. The category immediately becomes available for new submissions.
Deleting Categories
- Find the category
- Click Delete (trash icon)
- A dialog appears asking you what to do with the existing features in this category:
- Move features to another category - Select a target category from the dropdown. All features, along with their votes and comments, are transferred to the chosen category.
- Delete all features - Permanently removes every feature in the category, including all associated votes and comments.
- Confirm the action
Deleting features is permanent and cannot be undone. All votes and comments on those features are also removed. If you are unsure, choose the move option instead.

Category Colors
Colors help users quickly identify feature types. Choose colors that:
